Restorative Justice Council – Towards healing for those impacted by the Horizon IT Scandal

A restorative justice listening and learning programme specifically designed for individuals affected by the Post Office Horizon IT Scandal.

  • Stormont Hotel, Belfast – Tuesday 23rd September 2025

We would like to inform you of the above event and invite your attendance if you have been affected by the Horizon IT Scandal.

The event has been organised by the Restorative Justice Council (RCJ). The RCJ is an independent agency that has been commissioned by the Wyn Horizon Inquiry to create a program of restorative justice. The RJC are a completely independent organisation and have no links to Post office, Fujitsu or the Department of Business and Trade.

Restorative Justice

Restorative justice is the process of ensuring that people who have caused harm make amends to those affected by it. We have engaged with the RCJ on behalf of our clients and intend to make representations on what the government, Post Office Ltd, and Fujitsu can do to make amends.

The above event has been arranged for victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal to attend and voice what amends they would like to be seen done. Following the listening session, the RCJ will design a programme of restorative justice.

Restorative justice is a wide concept and can cover many types of action to make amends to you and your family members. This is an opportunity for you to voice what is most important to you. Some examples of restorative justice are:

  • Apology and acknowledgement,
  • Restoration of reputation,
  • Provision of counselling services,
  • Restoration of lost education.
