Post Office

We represent a number of clients whose convictions were based on evidence linked to the faulty Horizon IT system that led to hundreds of Sub-Postmasters being wrongly convicted of false accounting.

Today we sent correspondence on behalf of our clients to the Director of Public Prosecutions requesting that the Public Prosecution Service liaise with the Post Office regarding possible miscarriages of justice.

The English Court of Appeal has already overturned dozens of convictions, and hundreds of civil actions have been taken against the Post Office in England resulting in over £58 million damages so far.

Michael Madden of Madden & Finucane said:

“The Horizon Post Office scandal destroyed the lives of hundreds of innocent Sub-Postmasters. Even now, years later, it is still extremely difficult for these innocent men and women to come forward to go through the process of clearing their names.

“We fully expect that our clients, who were falsely accused of crimes relating to the discredited Horizon IT system, will have their convictions overturned and compensation awarded.”
