Today, our application for Judicial Review against the DoE and Invest NI was listed in the High Court in Belfast. The court listed the case for Hearing on 22nd October 2025 with a Review on 10th September 2025. The court heard that the England and Wales case of Al-Haq may have an impact on this case, and the judgment is expected to be delivered in that case by the end of July 2025.
Michael Madden of Madden & Finucane Solicitors said:
“This case brings to light public funds ending up in the supply chain used to create and maintain F-35 fighter jets that may have been used by the IDF in Gaza.
“Our client has obtained information that shows Invest NI did not apply their own rules in the consideration and allocation of these public funds, effectively removing oversight from the Executive Committee.
“Our client seeks any unlawful funds to be clawed back and ongoing unlawful funds to be ended.”
Our client, who is a member of Cairde Palestine, said:
“This case should ring alarm bells for everyone in the North, as it highlights how public money is being given to businesses that make components for weapons of war. This is taxpayer’s money that should be supporting our local communities, not Israel’s devastation of Gaza.
“We are hopeful that this judicial review will reveal the truth behind the confusing language used to defend the processes of this funding, and put a stop to any public money being used to fund Israel’s indiscriminate murder of Palestinian civilians.
“This case is part of Cairde Palestine’s wider campaign to bring an end to all forms of commercial and governmental collusion in Ireland with the genocidal Israeli state.”
