Post Office Inquiry

Today, Sir Wyn Williams published the first volume of his final report, which focuses on the human impact of the Horizon scandal and redress (compensation).

Michael Madden of Madden & Finucane Solicitors represents dozens of former sub-postmasters in Northern Ireland who were affected by the scandal. To date we have secured over £5 million in redress payments for former sub-postmasters.

Michael Madden said:

“My clients welcome today’s report which recognises the disastrous affect the scandal had on their lives. Many of the Chair’s recommendations will improve the lives of former sub-postmasters and their families.

“In particular, the recommendation for providing financial redress to close family members of those most adversely affected by Horizon, will help ease the burden that they have suffered. The government has already announced that it will adopt this recommendation.

“We represent dozens of relatives of sub-postmasters who have been campaigning for redress for their losses. We look forward to seeing the details of the new scheme once they are announced.”
